Between Two Rams

In 2022, I combined VCU and VCU Health’s separate marketing and communications teams into Enterprise Marketing and Communications — the university and health system’s first integrated branding, communications and marketing division.

Breaking down silos to bring team members together is critical for our new division. This is especially true in a hybrid/remote work world where Zoom fatigue threatens to make everyone feel like pixelated avatars.

In 2023, we created a new video series (stealing the name from Zach Galifianakis and highlighting VCU’s mascot) and called it “Between Two Rams.” This monthly series uses personality, humor and camaraderie to bring our division together.

I host each episode, which features a team member from a different part of our university and health system team. From uncovering hidden talents to exploring campus on a two-person bike, "Between Two Rams" strives to bridge the virtual divide and create community.

“Between Two Rams” won a national Circle of Excellence “Gold Award” in the leadership category in 2024 from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
